I saw a presumptuous ayahciniw passing judgement on an issue where their lack of understanding and contextual knowledge were laid bare. Whatever magnanimity you claimed to display, I saw, in a naked attempt at equivocation, an outsider dismissing the legitimate criticisms of people who were justifiably offended at the perpetuation of an incorrect and dangerously sexualized stereotype. I also saw that ayahciniw resort to stereotypes of our people in justifying this dismissal. Awas.
Again, remove yourself from anon if you are so passionate about this. We can then speak of this further.
I honestly don’t know a whole lot about it, so I did not speak about that specifically. Also… FYI, I’m not fully of European decent. I do have Cherokee blood in me, but due to my upraising I know very little of that part of my heritage… but then again, I know very little of a majority of my heritage.
Can you also please explain what “ayahciniw” is? I have never come across that term, and google doesn’t even help sooth that curiosity.
As for the rest of said post, I stand by the fact that Christianity has created some of the most inhumane situations and have caused cultural destruction.
